I am delighted that you have expressed an interest in applying to be the Executive Director of the British Society of Echocardiography.  

The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) was formed in 1990 to promote the study and advancement of cardiac ultrasound imaging and Doppler techniques, through professional representation, education and quality benchmarking.

We are seeking to fill a new role in the Society – our first Executive Director. The Executive Director would work proactively with myself and the Council to ensure that the Society has the strategic plan to deliver its charitable objectives of the protection and preservation of health and the effective relief of sickness through various professional ways. These are: education, the provision of training and promotion of best practice in Echocardiography; promoting high standards of professional competence in Echocardiography for the protection and benefit of patients and the public; and to promote and undertake research and disseminate the relevant results. They will also be responsible for devising and delivering an operational resourcing plan and leading and working with staff to deliver the plan.
