Happy Christmas from all at Thewlis Graham Associates - our Christmas message to you

Christmas message from Thewlis Graham Associates

It’s hard to know where to start, but I am in good company. The Oxford Dictionary this year decided to describe 2020 as a “year which cannot be neatly accommodated in one single word”.

Those first days in March, with all their muddle, uncertainty and lack of direction, were also a time of great ingenuity as we improvised working from home, interviewing by Zoom and holding business meetings through Teams. Perhaps this was because we still thought that this would be a sprint or at worst 800 metres. Sadly, as the pandemic took hold it turned out it was going to be a marathon. Last month a client said that the good thing is we are well over two-thirds through it. Let’s hope so.

What about the future?  Thanks to the collaboration and inventiveness of the scientific community at least three potential vaccines look like being available in record-breaking time. Hopefully there are more to follow. There’s the prospect of seeing friends outside the  support bubble and of having meetings face to face and not having to say, “Sorry, you’re still on mute.”

January brings a new year, new plans, new ways of doing things. But I sincerely hope that Christmas will give the well-deserved opportunity of resting, reflecting and recharging. Because it’s certainly been an unprecedented year.

Our very best wishes go to you and your families.
